selling my house and flipping another one to live in

so long story short, we want to sell ours and buy my grand mother's old house for cheap and put about 30,000 into it to fix it up and update it.
we should make about that much on our house we're selling, but my question is....can i get a loan for the new house and start the renovation before i sell mine?
we would be paying quite a bit lower for the house than it's appraised for.

Sure... as long as you have the $$$ for a down payment and have enough income to keep your debt to income ratios in line with both loans until you sell your current house.
