Selling a MS registered car to a LA buyer

From all of my research it seems we will need a notarized bill of sale and a notarized signature on the back of the title.
Has anyone sold a MS registered car to someone in LA? If so, any advice on the process is appreciated. TIA.

I have never but I assume they would take the bill of sale and title to their bmv and transfer it to a LA title

Notarized Bill of Sale, yes. If the form for an out of state title does not have a space for a notary, the title does not have to be notarized. I believe that Miss. titles do not have a notary line and thus do not have to be notarized. Be careful about one thing or else you will be charged 2 sets of taxes. You must get an affidavit from the seller stating that the seller is still a resident of Miss. or you will be charged both a sales tax and a use tax.
