2015 was a tough year for oil driller Schlumberger. Unless you were the CEO.

CEO Paal Kibsgaard received total compensation worth $18.3 million in 2015, the company reported, down only slightly from $18.5 million the year before.

The rest of Schlumberger didn't fare so well. The company cut 25,000 jobs during the year, or 20% of its workforce. Revenue was down 27%, and profit plunged 41%.

Schlumberger (SLB) shares tumbled 18%.

Zero fricks given. A company is there to make money, period. Employees are just that, employees.

They should get more tax cuts and corporate welfare. That will fix it.

If they wouldn't have paid him $18.5M they could have paid each of the 25,000 employees $740 total.

Then stop bitching at all the milenials for not having "loyalty" to their company and job hopping

This isn't specific to you.

lets pretend the average salary for each worker laid off is 40,000 year.

That saved one billion dollars.

What are you talking about? Do you even understand what you are talking about because it appears you read some headline.

That industry pays a crap ton in taxes.

frick. I'm running a $17M program right now and that shite is grinding me to the bone.

Schlumberger CEO is running an organization with $48B.........B as in BILLION in revenue.

People who can do that even remotely successfully are not common in the slightest.

People who bitch about CEO pay for such organizations probably couldn't run a District including 8-10 McDonald's.

No doubt. Exactly why my response was where it was. That bastard probably has to have a team of people helping him just to keep up with his day to day activities.

How long are we going to allow private corporations to make decisions that they believe are in their best interest? That is so cray-cray.

I'll fill you in.

HRC made $16 mil in 2014, and she's supposed to be a public servant.
