Nope. FAR sucked trying to study for, but that's where I got my highest score. The 17 miles wide, 6 inches deep saying rings especially true for FAR.

As stated before, doing Becker to the fullest is your best bet. I don't have kids but managed to pass them all on the first try even with a full time job and part of busy season. The way to look at it is your life will suck for 6 months, but that's better than it mostly sucking for over a year.

For FAR, I focused more on understanding the concepts of the Sims, and it helped with the multiple choice. It was just taking too much time trying to do multiple choice questions every night since the multiple choice were like mini Sims.

I am studying for BEC right now

For those that passed what did yall normally make on the hw's the first time? Im making anywhere from a 60 to 80. The one's I do worse on I'll go back through and get a better understanding but are the hw's indicative of what you will make on the test?

No don't worry about what you make the first time around so much. But definitely go back and do all the questions again. This time "mark" the ones you got wrong, then try them again and see why you get them wrong the 2nd time.

Ofcourse, that is what I do. Your study style might be different. But short answer to your Q - as long as you go back and do your due diligence during review, scores the first time around are not indicative of what you'll make on the test. (I scored 70-80 the first time around and made a 90+ on the test). Good luck.

1. Use the research function to your utmost advantage (especially on the sims--can you use it on the MCQ? can't recall)
2. Don't try to memorize the phase outs and all that bullshite, go for the concepts

I am studying for the Reg section of the CPA exam. Anyone have any helpful tips? I feel like I am reading hundreds of pages of info that I understand as a whole, but will never remember the details that could screw me on a sim. I can basically recite the code for corps from school but individual taxation has no rhyme or reason to it. I don't see how more than 10% of this can fit into 72 mic and 6 sims. How the hell do people get 90+ on this?

You'll walk out feeling like you bombed when you really did alright.

In a way that's good to hear. The sheer amount of material + detail can be overwhelming.
