And have used a local precious metal dealer. I have some silver eagles but wanted to get some maple leaf coins and a couple of other different metals that the local guy doesn't have.

Does anyone use APMEX? I have concerns about the delivery of the coins/bars if I'm not home, etc. Has anyone ever had an issue with them? TIA

A couple of the guys on here do and recommended it to me the other day. It looks like the deliveries are insured, so I wouldn't worry about that.

My biggest concern is that you pay $12 in shipping for up to 20oz, so that makes your purchase price almost $3 above spot per ounce

I'm new to PMs, so I don't know how much better of a price I could get at a local dealer....

I use Silver Towne, for orders over $250 it has to be signed for. This eliminates having it stolen from your mailbox.

I use them and I have not had an issue as far as delivery. The put them in the mailbox so it will not sit on your porch. One time, they sent them FedEx and someone had to be home to sign for them. Knock on wood, I have not had one problem with them.

As stated above, the shipping is high. As I pointed out in another thread, my dad and I order together and chop the shipping. Helps a little anyways.

why buy physical when you can trade futures and ETF's? Much easier to sell. or do you collect?
