For fricks sake, he SAID he could do it in 60 and that is what he explained.

You started to call bullshite because 5k of that sixty came from an untaxed source.

Now you are turning it into it being bullshite because he said he might be able to do it in 50k....never mind the basis of the point (of which you were disbelieving of) was regarding it being done in 60k, which he backed up.

I give up....you commented about how we all banded together; that's actually a rarity here and we disagree a lot. The uniformity of the stances against you should say something.

But again, I'm out. I'm not going to sit here and illustrate points due to someone not understanding what is being written; and/or twisting what is said to suit what he wants the world to be.

Reading comprehension is a prequitisite of financial literacy.

It wasn't 60 gross, which is what he claimed. And he most certainly couldn't do it with 10k less.

I'm sure there is more that he conveniently doesn't remember until called out on it either.

No I'm not. Based off his own numbers, there is basically nothing left for him to cut, and you think he could do it on 10k less? No fricking way. None. And he didn't back shite up, because it is more than 60 gross.

I bet Hitler used similar logic

I haven't twisted anything. That's the beauty of the words being right here for everyone to see.

All i know is this, i make 52,200 a year gross and my take home is 2900 a month. So if you think i can save 30,000 in one year, that means i would have 4,800 to spend the entire year on rent, food, etc. So i have 400 a month to spend on rent, food, gas and utilities. Seems realistic

Let me tell y'all a story about an engineer. He won the use of a car for a year, and took possession in January. He decided they were going to put as many miles on that free car as they could in that year. He obsessed over the gas mileage and kept close track of it. He mapped out the routes and scheduled the refueling stops based on the mpgs. He didn't want to stop more often than they had to.
They drove to ski resorts throughout the winter, to Grandma's at Easter, to DC to see cherry blossoms for spring break. Summer rolls around and they hit the road for the beach, it was pretty hot when the got into Virginia, so he reluctantly turned on the a/c.
The wife looks at the dash and sees the gas gauge is nearly past E and says something. He says oh no, we still have gas left, the next planned stop is 20 miles ahead. They soon sputter to a stop--out of gas. When he was keeping meticulous track of mpg, it was in the winter. he didn't take air conditioning into account.
This was in the '80s, so no cell phone, and they had to walk to the next exit on the interstate to get help. Didn't have a gas can in the trunk, either.
So, you can make a very accurate, careful plan, but there are still variables you have not thought of that will bite you in the arse.

I sure hope that irrelevant nonsense was worth typing out.

No cable, free movies from the library, no smartphone data plan (shoot, we may only have had one mobile at the time), a/c set at 80, heat at 67. Date nights on birthdays and anniversary only. Eat at home, plan meals, mostly vegetarian. Bargains at the farmers market.
Yea, no way I would want to live like that to save a few hundred per month.
