re: Question about Per Diem?

Hell No! The deal is I am thinking of moving here. So no per diem, but no Louisiana state tax.
I think I'm better off getting the per diem if I don't have to pay taxes on it and just keeping two residences.

In that case your employer knowing about it is the least of your worries. Just hope the IRS doesn't find out.

And your employer will be in for an awakening as well if found to be paying a high per diem and lower salary to avoid payroll taxes.

Any ideas what that limit is. I will be over 48,000 by years end.

Pay your damn taxes and give to the NAACP with whatever you have left

re: Question about Per Diem?
Per Diem is inherently shady. Its a way around workers comp premium. And when you get injured on the job and your W2 says 50K but pay plus per diem = 100K. Well your going to claim your earnings are 100k. If you move to claim future earnings in a suit by claiming the per diem, you just committed tax fraud if you had not claimed it as income in prior years
