What percentage of profit do companies give employees? We get 5.5, is that on the low end? Thanks.

There is no general rule. It's too company and industry varied.

Our company determines profit sharing (bonus) based company performance and individual performance. Range from 8% to 100% of base, depending on level in the organization.

Depends on your level in the company.
My current is 7%, but lower levelers get 5% or so.

I gave all of my employees 13.5% for 2010.

My company gives 10% profit sharing. No 401K or anything like that. It doesn't vary from management to lower level employees.

At the company I used to work for, all the salaried employees got whatever the company's profitability was for the year. It was sometimes 20% or higher.
