As long as you break even after monthly fee, it's a really good way to force yourself to save. I am averaging $90 per month in round ups. That is money that I don't miss but will pay for my trip to the Ole Piss game this year. I WOULD NOT recommend for anything other than either a rainy day fund or play money.

At $50/month the fee will set you back 2 percent. I deposit randomly on top of round ups to reduce that fee to around 1.25%

That flat $1 fee will kill you at $35/month...that's about 2.8% in fees.
So like you said, either increase your contributions or cut it loose!

Started registering.

A question: If I have my "round-up account" be my credit card account, it takes money out of my checking account to "round-up"?

How much of an automatic deposit do you do on top of your rounding?

I auto deposited $5/week until January. Now I just do $20 here and there when the market is down. Half of my investment is from round ups. Half from deposits.

Lots of negative returns.

There are reasons for this.

1) The market has been mostly flat yet quite volatile since most have opened their account. This will lead to a lot of mixed results depending on the timing of your round up. I'm slightly ahead right now because I started mine during a decent pull back.

2)$1 fee is excessive if you're investing less than $100/month. That couple with a flat market will bring negative returns.

3) Diversification can be an issue with the aggressive fund because it has 30% in VNQ(Vanguard Reit)
