I am wanting those regular rewards. Any methods available? Visa giftcards for cash and then payoff the CC?

Thanks.

Yes, a few years back credit cards would sent you checks to transfer the balance to a credit card with no interest for 6-12 months. I sent the checks to my mortgage company. Now when I get those checks in the mail they have a 3-5% fee on transfers.

Yes. There are options but it depends on your lender too. Gift cards will give you the ability to do it and the card you use will determine if it's even worth it. For example the AMEX SPG points routinely garner a value of at least 2 cents per dollar so you'd come out ahead of the 1% gift card cost. Is that worth your time? Do you get a bonus at drug stores or gas stations or grocery stores?

I don't bother with it and I'm all over the CC points game.

Ya it was pretty easy a year or 2 ago but there is some added difficulty now. Plus, my mortgage was giving me a "cash back" deal if I paid from my checking automatically.

Now that I'm refi-ing I may explore it again
