My youngest son is going to start school next fall and my wife is starting to look into part time jobs. We see a lot of ads for medical billing that can be done from home, is this a real thing? I have seen where you can take classes and get certified. Ideally she would like something from home if there is such a thing!

Have him buss tables. I learned so much about people and business working in the service industry.

I have a family member that does it, but they were a nurse prior to doing it. So yes, it is a real thing.

Get him a good internship, even unpaid if your finances can swing it. I realize that seems hard with him having no experience, but just head up to your local congressman's office and go in and speak with them. You may be surprised at the outcome.

I should have included more info. My son is only 2, so bussing takes is out for right now!

There are a lot of call center jobs that are now being wired to people's homes as opposed to actually going into the call center. I'd look for something like that.

Or just sign up for one of the myriad of "gig" economy services that allow you to be an indy contractor and make some cash on the side (postmates, uber, lyft, etc)

Local retail might be an option. Lots of small stores might be willing to hire her for 20 hours a week at just above min wage. But it would be easy. I'm thinking of small boutique type retail.
