3 yr Transocean and PBR yielding 7+. Discount as well Transoceans at about 96ish. Weatherford and Nabors at 5 ish but they are above par. I don't want to go further out than that because at some point the government has to quit manipulating rates like they are now. Thoughts?

Avoid anything Transocean related like a pack of flesh eating zombies right now.

Not a comment on this specific issue, but keep an eye on future liquidity as a risk factor in this sector.

I was thinking of that but right now the financials i.e. current ratio, interest coverage, and cash on hand look ok. There's obviously concern and some future questions or they wouldn't be yielding that much. Transocean recently did go on S&P creditwatch.

Transocean was having liquidity problems on the horizon with full rig utilization. With the amount of stacked rigs they have now the debt may prove to be too much. Current conditions could prove to be the death knell for them; low utilization compounded with a glut of new competition steaming out of shipyards worldwide.

Interesting but I've decided not to bite. I'm gonna go with BGT I think.

The value in RIG right now is it's assets not it's future. JMHO

Today's oilfield bonds are tomorrow's oilfield equity.
