Nissan Leaf - Any owners?

I recently took a job in another dept which requires me to be in the office every day (downtown ATL). 30 mile commute each way in terrible traffic from North of the city. I just read the other day the AFVs can travel in HOV and the new HOT lanes (pay tool roads they are building from 285 up to my house) They would cut out a ton of traffic for me once they are built next year plus the tank of gas a week I am using.
GA Power is offering 10K rebate off MSRP until Sept plus the $7500 federal tax credit. Any out the door prices I should look for?
example
LINK
My most recent offer from them was 30,800 drive out (all tax and fees). So 20,800 after rebate which I would finance at their 0% rate, then 7500 back next year with my taxes. net $13.3. Thoughts?

I'm not sure I follow your math. You say the GA Power rebate is for $10k off MSRP but you subtract the full $10k from a number that already includes rebates and dealer discounts, as well as TTL. I'm not sure you can take the full $10k off your drive out price like you're thinking.
Other than that, do they include a charging station with the purchase?
ETA: And lolz at the $1200 dealer add on appearance package. I wouldn't be paying that.

I'm not going to pretend to be familiar with the Leaf market, but check out cars.com within a decent radius around you and sort by lowest price.
I did 500 miles of Atlanta and found these: (Note: I have no idea what's going on with these prices, nor whether these prices include rebates you're not entitled)
Leaf 1
Leaf 2
Leaf 3
As to whether you should buy one at all, I defer to THIS in-depth Jalopnik article. It seems as though leasing might be a more attractive proposition on this car - the article linked gives details about the battery life & shows how bad the Leaf's resale value is.

No but my next vehicle will be electric. And, yes, GA Power has one of the best incentives around. Total cost of ownership with GA Power's 10k incentive should be significantly less than a combustion engine vehicle at today's gasoline and power prices.

This car has the most ridiculous depreciation outside of the Fiat 500E I have ever seen. That same package retails new for 34,000$. You would literally have to steal one to not take a wallet shattering hit when trading in if you buy one new. If you could buy one out the door for 17k, you are still 6k flipped driving it off the lot.

just be warned that if you use AC, heating, headlights and drive at speeds above 45 mph you will be severely disappointed with the range.

As a commuter only vehicle it sounds like a fair deal

Invest in a Hybrid model that way you aren't totally dependent on a charger. Most new hybrid models, Toyota, Honda etc. hold their value much better a leaf.

they we not including the GA rebate in the offer of $30,300 OTD, so the are basically taking about 6K off MSRP at the dealership, then adding in taxes and fees to get back to the 30,300. I am basically thinking that it would look like 27,900 (listed on website) - 10K rebate. then adding back roughly 2K in tax and fees. so right at 20K financed, then there would be the tax credit later on,
Just curious if anyone owns one as a commuter. Pros/cons/price they paid, etc

i am worried about that. GA heat and hwy speeds would greatly reduce my range

How do the tax rebates work? Is it actually $7500 less in income tax? That's doubtful?
But, the reason the resale value is so bad is because people are paying WAY under retail for them.
I mean for 30 miles you one way shouldn't matter if you blow full AC at night with your brights on.
I'd look for one used for $13k though if that's a possibility.

Do you have that Roswell / Alpharetta to the city commute? if so I'm sorry.
before you decide on a leaf - are there any charging stations at your work?

yeah that is terrible. You can tell he is a treehugger.
5 hours to a full charge and at BEST 15o mile range.
Then GOD knows what those charging stations will charge in the future.
no wonder nobody buys them. Dude is clueless on many of his assertions and generalizations in his views on life.

Woodstock but yes the whole bottom floor of my deck has chargers. Probably 50 of them

I work with a couple people that have a Leaf for commuting. They both lease. They are also both nerd accountants so I'm sure they did a thorough lease/buy analysis.

I'm sure they did. I would lease, but I think I would go over the mileage. Most leases I have seen are 10-15K. 60 miles I day, 5 days a week (putting in some vacation and holidays) puts me right at 15K assuming I never drive anywhere else except work to home
