Going to be meeting with our insurance provider next week for the renewal. Any websites and/or reads you recommend to educate myself prior to meeting?

Umm. Normally your agent should do the negotiating with the companies for you.

If you have to negotiate with your agent then you need a better agent you can trust to do their job.

Call a friend from college that is in insurance sales and see what else is out there....is your provider a broker or a one company provider?

We've got several properties around the country. We're in the storage business. MMC is our broker.

Best bet would be to bring in a lower quote from another carrier. Or just let them know you are shopping and they will give you their best. If I had to guess your insurance is in surplus lines and it is ruthless in that market now. Companies are doing whatever they can to write and/or maintain.
