any recommendations on who to go through? Gov't loan is out on account of the number of hours I've taken. Googling thing like "best private student loan rates" and the like obviously result in a shitload of sponsored sites that don't help me out at all.

I took mine out through Chase . It's never recommended to go the private route because of the high interest rates .. But it is a option . If you can , do financial aide through school / government . my Interest rate on my student loan is ridiculously high .

Edited for spelling and punctuation:

With the changes in the government loans, the private loans may be better than the government loans if you have good credit.

We are using Sallie Mae. No real problems.

I know if it's for graduate school then you can get a grad plus loan through the government which is probably your best interest rate

Good deal. Was in the mid 700's last I checked.

Will apply online at Sallie Mae tonight.

Nah, I changed majors after a year, then fricked around off and on for another 4, racking up hours but not much in terms of useful classes.
