Mutual Funds to invest in?

Just exchanged 3k into Vanguard's healthcare fund. It was dipping and is still on the decline. I read within a thread on here the other day split opinions on this specific fund. Which funds are you guys gravitating to right now?

VIGAX
VHDYX
VTSAX
Those are my top 3 holdings. I'm not sure healthcare won't continue to fall for a bit. But you've got to start a position at some point to start dollar cost averaging, so I don't necessarily think it's a bad move. I thought about it myself, but was planning on using the ETF VHT. Basically same thing, but can buy dips more effectively and also start a position smaller. Lower fee too, but can't be set on auto invest with vanguard. That's the main downside, a little more work.

It's in my holdings and I'm satisfied with it. Yes, it's dipping right now because of all the uncertainty surrounding what the Trump administration will do regarding health care, but once details comes out I'm sure this fund will recover. I'm keeping my stake inside the fund and I'll likely invest more. I've held this fund for about four years now and it's one of my top performing funds.
I'm not that active with monitoring my investments like some people are in MT. That's one of the reasons I choose to invest in mutual funds vs stocks. I just don't have the time to do the research and keep up with the monitoring. I might check it only three or four times per year. I opened my ROTH in 2009. Since it's inception, I've realized a 9.6% growth which is great for me given how hands off I am with it. I'm invested in a retirement target date fund and some sector specific funds like the Vanguard Healthcare

I would recommend only doing ETFs and not mutual funds.
Lately I have been using some Schwab ETFs.

The thing I don't like about etfs is it's very manual. (See above post). I'm not sure if you can buy fractional shares either. For example, I contribute $105 and change to 5 different funds every week - and it's automatic. This amounts to 20 bucks or so per fund. With ETFs this would be a nightmare if even possible elsewhere. It is absolutely not possible with vanguard FWIW.
But the fees are cheaper on ETFs and you can probably DCA a little cheaper as long as you commit to buying on a some sort of a schedule still (don't try to time the market - it will leave you behind). So, If you do have some cash reserves to move I think ETFs can be a nice option, but for autopilot investing they're a PITA.

I just balance my ETFs once a month. Seems like a small amount of time to earn a measurable amount of extra money.

What's you're window? I'm 38, and am wondering if I should include a more balanced fund in addition to VTSAX, and also a target date 2045 fund. I'm 38 right now. I have about $40k in a Roth that I'm looking to rollover to Vanguard, and about $8k in savings that I want to add to this for 2016.
