I have to disagree. I personally don't know of any company that prevents people from bringing their iPhones or Android to work and I deal with a lot of them at work. The RIM security is myth. Companies can do stuff now on iPhones and Androids like remote wipe etc. which they could only do with Blackberries back it its heyday.
Also it seems like there is a story every other day about another government agency ditching Blackberry for iPhone/Android. Surely if security was an issue, these agencies wouldn't be switching, right?

Is this a technological vulnerability cycle? The more people investing into Android and iOS will attract enough hackers, allowing Microsoft to catch up with the endless number of security holes that have been exploited over the years?
I'm not on the Apple train, but one of the main attractions to Apple I have always had is the feeling of security you get with Apple devices.

Exchange is terrible.
Gmail/Google Apps (mail service) is 100* better.

I'm actually about to order a few msft win8 hyrid tablet notebooks to see about replacing all 40 of our ipads with .... I think msft is adjusting and gearing up for massive growth actually ...I'm a buyer at these levels

Put simply, Microsoft fell victim to their success.
They were fat, happy and napping and the move to mobile over the last five years rolled them while they were not looking. It is an age old story.
As for now, Microsoft pretended that Surface and W8 were them catching up when the fact of the matter is they have already lost to Google and Apple and they can't catch up. Their hold on enterprise is going to deteriorate because of this and this is already happening.
Surface and W8 were their big moves and it appears they have failed.
They were fat, happy and napping and the move to mobile over the last five years rolled them while they were not looking. It is an age old story.

Agreed, I work for a big bank that has been VERY RIM-centric for a long time and even we're now getting on board with BYOD.
I don't see any way W8 mobile catches on.
I really like the idea of the surface but I can't see mobile doing anything. MSFT going in the IBM direction would not surprise me at all and I think if Ballmer is sent packing someday then that is what will happen.

in short, b/c I want to know if these tablets will offer all the conveniences and advantages of the ipad...but also now be just like any other PC as a member of my domain and everything that comes with that...

They are just getting going ...wait till corporate starts laptop cycling ..... Just due to compatiblity/integration, I think they can still pull it off...
