I came across the idea of starting a psychology engineering company.

Is it possible to start a engineering company without being a engineer?
How do you make money in the mental health industry?
How can I find out about psychology engineering?

One of the first in the industry. mental health in america is a near joke and many reasons reasonable care isn't given to those who need it.

I want to create a mental health company. Want to create charity's, apps/technology, processes/operations and legal resources.

The first product is an app that helps with nightmares, flashbacks, panic attacks and anxiety attacks. Not sure how to make money off of apps.

Assuming you're interested in making money ... It sounds like the first thing you need to do is to figure out if you can and how to make money with your first product. Then you can figure out if you need a company

After re reading it actually sounds like you're thought process has gone like "I'd like to do something to help with mental health but I don't know much about the topic. Oh I could make an app but I don't know anything about apps. Hmm can apps even make money? Let's just ask TD"

Ok, why? Why do you think that mental health, as a healthcare specialty, severely lags behind with regard to available resources for patients?

You're thinking too big right now without really understanding your market and its potential, or lack thereof.

Your app, as a singular product, isn't too big though. Have you created the app? Is it available on the 2 biggest app stores? How do you price the app? How do you reach your target market? Does the product work? Is ti polished enough to not get torn apart in the review area of the app store?

That's what I did yesterday. Was told apps don't make money. I understand mental health and can sell the issues just don't know the industry to see if engeering products and resources will pay off

If you want to make money figure out what the gov't will pay for and "sell" that.

please tell us more.

How and why do you know so much about mental health? Why would I buy your app over just going to see a psychiatrist or a psychologist?

I promise you there is money to be made in mental health. I work in a nursing home and our residents often go out for med adjustments that for whatever reason can't be done by our doc. They come back same as before, get worse, go back and calm down, come back and the process starts over. Some go to "day programs" and "group sessions" ... they're old and cranky and many are demented -- none of this is going to help (sometimes the med changes do often times though they do NOT for a long time).

Our tax dollars are paying a shite load in this type situation.

I have my own idea for a service for mental health, but I don't know how to put it together. It would be a money maker in a city setting.

There is money to be realized in treating mental illness, people do it all the time. With that said persons who have dementing processes are not typically appropriate candidates for participation in day programs much less group therapies as the capacity to actively participate and benefit (which presumes adequate cognitive skills) is a requisite. I am around many who could benefit from socialization, organized leisure activities and the likes but that doesn't rise to the level of candidacy for treatment. Significant pressure can be made of providers by others, such as well meaning family members, but it is not my responsibility to provide adult day care. Citizens deserve a good value for their dollars and providing for those in need for what we do is the correct way.

Haven't created app yet if someone steals my idea great because it will make the world a better place.

The issue with mental health is the gap between those who provide care and those who self manage.
