The way I understood it was that it will be compilation of all the material. Hopefully we get some more direction on it as we get closer to it.

Are you taking Mkt 701 now? I heard that the workload has been reduced. What do you think? How are the exams?

I just got finished with Vines 730 Test 1 and I was quite surprised at the difficulty. Which, I am a numbers kinda of guy so 701 came very easy to me and made an "A" with that class. I am not looking for the same outcome on this class if all the test are like Test 1. I had one problem to work out!!!!! We will see!!

****EDIT**** just got my grade back and aced it with a 100%, maybe the wife is right and i am just to hard on myself!! WHOOWHOOWHOOWHOO*****

Anyone taking BADM 700 with Wampler?

The exam is now open, and he says there are 58 MC and 6 problems. My problem is that the homework is taking me >5 hrs per chapter so I don't know how to prep for a 2 hr exam with twice as many questions.

Any tips?
I am at 100% on the 6 assignments so far and I don't want to blow it!

I'm not in the current section, but is Wampler still using cengage for everything but the finance chapters?

The tests were way more like the pre/post test stuff under the cengage study tools than the homework.

That's great! I basically had the same format. I couldn't answer one of the math questions so I left it blank due to time constraints. This is my first class in the MBA program so I wasn't sure what to expect! Ended up with a B on the test so I hope to build off of that going into the next one. I did better than I thought as well.

Does Dr. Vines curb his tests? I saw where he said he was finalizing them right now. Anyone know who has taken him before?

Thanks for your reply. Just to clarify, if my grade is already submitted and he is in the finalization process, dies that mean it could go up a few points?

About to begin studying today. I haven't looked over the material yet. How about you?

Vines reviews them a second time for consistency in grading purposes. So it may not change.

In my experience with Wampler, those tests were about 60% straight forward multiple choice and the other 40% were like shorter or multiple choice versions of the more involved "millions of blank cells" type of questions from the homework.

I also began studying the pre and post test questions on Cengage but be careful with those. Wampler admitted to us that he hadn't looked at those questions himself and on 2 different occasions I ran into typos where the questions technically had no correct answer. That type of stuff made me question whether I had understood the material and eventually I stopped using them altogether.

I think I got the most out of just studying the homework questions and making sure I knew the why behind questions where it wasn't immediately apparent.

Another tip: When you get to the Finance part of the class, don't bother using a calculator. Just do everything in Excel. In fact, I set up all of the required equations in different sheets often with an example question from the homework so I could quickly recognize when to use each equation. It made that test a lot easier.

It isn't many problems or exercises at all. Seems straightforward to me.
