I'm attempting to convince my current employer to help pay for some continuing education and I believe I'll have an easier time persuading them if I go for the MBA with Finance Concentration, mostly because my current work is very finance heavy.
However, I see specialization courses listed that interest me outside of the Finance "track", such as MADM 751 and ISDS 705. Would I be able to take these additional specialization courses even though they aren't required for the Finance focused MBA? Does the program allow that?

Sure, they'll let you take them.

General concentration has at least 2 electives and MADM 751 is an option. Clarify that your electives aren't FIN (very well may be). If not and you care to explore general concentration, explain to your employer that a general concentration does more to address your weaknesses, rather than a FIN concentration's minimal impact on your already strengths. My BS is FIN and what I took away from the general concentration impacted me in all areas.

What is the minimum overall GPA for one to graduate from the LSUS MBA program? I read that the online LSU Flores MBA requires 3.0

I'd be lying if I told you, but the program isn't at all difficult if you put in the time and work smart.

2.75 I think. Not sure though

Any advice for Sibelle? I'm pretty concerned on this fall class.

Sibelle is going to break up my 4.0 streak this fall. Ugh!

Thanks for the advice.
I spoke to a LSUS counselor yesterday and they informed me that I can take specialization courses outside the 3 required for the "MBA with Finance Specialization."
My question to you, and anyone else who has adequate experience in the curriculum, is what were your favorite non-core courses? Which courses did you feel helped you the most?

My job is a blending of IT and Finance in that my team and I are responsible for our business intelligence environment, both the server side maintenance and the often finance-focused report building, though we occasionally build reports and dashboards that don't involve financial data.

Just completed MADM 751. Great course with a great professor (Meeks)

Echoing Paul Allen on MADM 751. Completely changed my perspective on many things.

Directly apply your personal experience to specific coursework topics. Use feedback to show you're grasping concepts in subsequent assignments. Is there something in particular that's worrying you?

Her grading drove me nuts.

Just the weekly discussion questions. She seemed like a stickler for sources outside of the text. It seems like a lot of research/reading in the 7 week window. Just my impression I signed up last fall and dropped 2 days in bc I just had too much going on.

I'll completely agree on Meeks. His 751 is the best class I've taken so far.

MADM 720 wasn't an easy course at all in my opinion. I made a B, a low B

Wasn't bad. I'd work in the text a few times, a text or two from previous courses, a journal through Noel library if possible, and a few quick online sources.
MKT 701 required the most reading IMO.
