LSU Online MBA..........

Has anyone here done this? I saw an advertisement yesterday for this, it appeared to cost just as much as an Executive/Professional MBA. If you get your MBA by going this route do you have to indicate this on future resumes or do you just go on as if you received your MBA by conventional means?

Most annoying part is if you don't sign in for a couple days or miss a HW assignment....somebody will call you and blow up your phone until you log in. Enjoy that crap.

Dont do an online MBA..
The benefit of networking is lost and most businesses do not work in "virtual teams" despite what some academics will tell you. Whats more, presenting via a video recording is not the same as presenting in front of a live audience. The real value in a good MBA program is what you learn from your classmates experiences. This still happens in an online environment, but not to the same degree as in a classroom environment.
I know people that have gone the online MBA route and it shows when they hit the job market. Go brick and mortar from an AACSB accredited institution and not from an online program.

Sooooooo exactly what are you getting at with this? In no part of my post did I mention anything about wanting something for nothing. I currently have a pretty good paying white collar job, and I'm trying to get an edge for the future. However, I live in New Orleans, have two 1 year olds and making the junket up to Baton Rouge every week for two years is a little more trouble than I want to go through right now.

Oh I wasn't getting at anything with it. I work for the federal government and they pay education expenses for employees. I have a meeting with HR tomorrow to go over it with them for the course now.

Oh ok sorry......sometimes you never can tell with some of the folks on these boards. I wish I could get my employer to spring for this.
I probably need to do a little more research into what they are actually offering. I'm not sure if networking in an MBA environment is really necessary for me at this point. My background is a little unique, in that I'm in the Oil and Gas industry (10 years) in a supply chain role. When I spoke with a recruiter a couple years back he acted as if I was a white alligator......so I'm not sure I would have many contemporaries anyway.

MBA online?
An MBA is a soft degree as it is, so where is the added value online. MBA is all about networking and making connections.

First time poster, but long time reader.
Hello all I had a question about this subject if I'm not to late. I started my PMBA at LSU and now I am transitioning into the online MBA. Honestly will it look the same or even be the same degree? I work for a oil and gas service company and I am wanting to move up within with a good degree as an MBA with a huge alumni network I am positive LSU does that.
Reason I am moving over to online is because I had to move to be closer to my job, and work. I dont have an engineering degree which can limit me, but I want to be in the business side none the less, hence the MBA.
Any advice for this fairly new Tiger?

yea its a pretty good set up IMO. I just wonder since its easier for me to do online now that LSU has it as a choice would it be looked in the same light?
I think it will, plus I am juggling my family, paying some of my own way, and etc. What can be other options if I decide to leave the Oil & Gas side?
