Hi guys, trying to build skills as a fundamental analyst and looked at Goodwood in Baton Rouge as a possibility. Is this a good firm, or would there be others in Baton Rouge or New Orleans that you'd recommend for someone looking for a junior role?

A possibility for what? To go work for them?

Goodwood (1 year): 26.5%
S&P 500 (1 year): 25.3%. Beginners luck, I guess....

You can't make a fair comparison based on the S&P, the Russell 3000 would be a better comparison. But again I wouldn't judge the strength of a fund based on one year performance.
As far as the firm itself I have no clue if they would be good. The only thing I can tell (and this is based on their mutual funds prospectus) is that a fund with 346% turnover probably isn't big on investing on fundamentals. Try taking a look at Hancock Horizon funds out of New Orleans, they may be your best bet.
Also, what is your background? CFA? MBA? MS? What would make a company hire you over another candidate?
