Great news! I sold all my LF and bought LY a couple of weeks ago when the price was $1.40 for LY. Probably unnecessary, but I wanted to be safe

I bought 5,000 shares of ly back at 1.79, I hope this has a happier ending for me than EXXI did

A couple of articles about the difference. These are a little dated, and LY has been revalued at 4:1 instead of 40:1, but this will give you an idea. I think they're both safe, and will be converted if the end up listing on the NYSE, but LY just seems safer.

How do you even buy on OTC markets? It wouldn't let me on Vanguard a few months ago (thank god). Do you have to call it in?

What is the difference between LNGLY and LNGLF?

LNGLY shares are ADRs with Deutsche Bank, being the depositary bank holding the local shares (the Australian listed LNG shares). LNGLY is a sponsored ADR (with LNG supporting the listing). These ADRs should be fairly simple to purchase through your US broker.

LNGLF securities are essentially derivative securities traded in the US by market makers without the support of LNG where the market maker purchases the actual shares on the primary exchange of the company (the Australian Stock Exchange - ASX). In this instance, there is no ADR ratio, it is always 1-to–1.

NB: unlike the LNGLY ADRs, there is no communication or agreement with the market makers who have set up the LNGLF security.

Scottrade will let you, but you have to set it up as a limit order i think. Something like that.

Thats where I bought all this LNGLF from.....I'm either going to knock 10 years off my retirement goal with this play or lose close to 30k.....

Bump- credit to IG in the oil stocks thread for finding this. Gives a little bit of hope for the future.
