Anyone ever deal with them ? My credit union sent me notice using them as an underwriter for my car insurance
I'm currently with Farm Bureau.

I've had Liberty Mutual for my car, house, and umbrella coverage. My impression is that they normally will not insure high risk people. If you have and keep a good record then they are very competitive.

They increased my auto and HO rates after being with them a year. I dropped both policies and went elsewhere.

What company is cheaper for Home Owners insurance? I would love to find something cheaper.

Pay 890/yr to LM for house valued at 650k including all electronics (iPhones, iPads, laptops,Etc...).

No one is cheaper on home insurance.

Yeah, I called them about a year and a half ago getting quotes when my former insurance company jacked our homeowners and auto up almost 20% without any claims. The woman I spoke to said that was ridiculous and that their premiums hardly ever increase, but when they do it's typically around 5%. So of course I went with Liberty Mutual. I got my renewals a few months ago and homeowners went up 15% and auto went up 18%

Looks like you are in TN. Rates in LA for Liberty are no where near what you're paying.

I've had liberty mutual for 21 years for home and auto. I've had 2 claims in that time for auto accidents, and they handled them without issue.

Every year though my premium automatically increases by 25%, but I call my agent and he adjusts down to a much smaller increase. It irks me, but I live with it.

My fear in switching is going to another insurer and having an issue I need them to help with quickly, then having them want to drop me and have to find other coverage.

Just another reason why it blows to live in LA

Almost 2k a year for a house valued at 400k. And I have other policies (auto, rental house, umbrella) through them.

I pay about what you pay for my rental, which doesnt include contents, and is worth about 150k.

We have them for homeowners and had a claim this past spring where a tree fell and clipped our house. They were all over and made it happen quickly. I was impressed as that was my first experience dealing with a homeowner's claim.

I work on the commercial side of P&C insurance, not on personal lines, but on the commercial side Liberty is one of the national big dogs in the business. They've been snapping up other companies like mad the past decade. I say that just to say that they're not some fly-by-night; you can be secure that they won't just disappear if there's a disaster like some regional companies who get overexposed.

Yea, they did that to me too after the first year. Then they did it to me again after the second year. My homeowners insurance went up almost 60% in 2 years. So I shopped around and left them a few months ago and I am now paying 54% of what I was paying for homeowners and auto. I am now with Safeco, which is owned by.....Liberty Mutual. Go figure.

I've got homeowners, flood, and auto with State Farm. I get multi-line and household (my parents and sibling) discounts, even though we don't all live in the same house or zip for that matter. Haven't ever had more than a 3% increase in premiums.

I was with State Farm for 40 years--since I was 15. Shopped Geico for auto two year s ago and save a huge amount of money. I ask my long time agent to match the price and she could not. (I had never had an auto claim.)

Guy in my office had a similar experience.

Just this year State Farm went up on my HO. I had Liberty quote it and they were $300 cheaper on the same coverage and then I shopped it to Farm Bureau and they were $500 cheaper.

I really do think State Farm is trying to reduce their exposure in Louisiana.

If you have been with a carrier more than 3 years you should shop.

These insurance companies have gotten to be like cable companies---they give new people very good prices and screw long time customers.
