What is the MBs view on investing on tangible goods such as precious metals or stones (more metals)? I am thinking about going into gold/silver. I want something that I can put my hands on in case the dollar doesnt hold up in the future.

Thoughts?

Followup question:
Where is a solid place to watch gold/silver prices? Every website i find looks like a company that is selling gold/silver.

Kitco
to watch/track market values for metals
APMEX, Scottsdale or Sivertowne to buy.

If you're in Baton Rouge, I'd suggest Gold & Silver market in cityplace over Louisiana Gold & Coin on Sherwood (Higher premiums above spot but better values on Morgans & have more American Silver Eagle bullion coins in stock).

Just my opinion. Regardless, do your homework and read up on what you'll be dealing with (metal/coins).

But in the end, It all depends on what your focus and purposes for buying bullion or coins are.

Why not real estate? Isn't that tangible? Plus the interest on money you borrow is tax deductible.

Because real estate is illiquid.
