How much cash do you have on-hand (in your possession) in case it hits the fan?

Not to include any liquid investments (money markets, bonds, CV of Whole Life policy, etc.)
I talking about it ATM's stop issuing cash tomorrow, how much is in your safe at your house or under your mattress?
If you would have asked me 3-months ago, mine was $0--now I have about 6 months living expenses.
What say you?

In the situation you describe, you think cash will be worth having?

Some quarters. $40 at most at any given time.
I'll accept my fate when the apocalypse arrives.

about $50 in my wallet and however much the change is worth in my change jar...
in this situation I'll just use my wife as currency

Seriously? If I can get to a safety deposit box, a lot.

Whatever loose change is in my couch. However, if your scenario happens, the guns I own will be my most valuable asset anyway

Enough to have one hell of a wild night at the titty bar

You do know that money isn't protected in any way right? If the bank were to burn down you are out of luck, but I guess the same could be said for keeping it in the house.

So what currency do I have at home that I can use in case of the apocalypse?
Three rifles and a few cases of ammo.

Cash will quickly become "worthless" in all but the briefest of crises.
We are well stocked with a supply of emergency rations, quality, working firearms and an ample stock of ammunition.
We're good.

I've got $200 in my pocket becuase I was suppose to go to the casino the other night. I normally have between $0 and $20.

I have $6 in my money clip.
I have a $100 bill hidden in my car and my wife's car.
I have $200 in a vase in my house.
I have about $20 in our pool bag for concessions at the pool
And a bunch of change. I'd guess another $50 or so, maybe more.
So roughly $475.

This is more apocalypse fantasy than money talk. Should post on OT instead.

Why? What will you do with that cash if shite hits the fan? Burn it for warmth?
Posted on 8/21/15 at 7:57 pm to NewIberiaHaircut
Between $ 0.25-1.25

Why would you have 6 months living expenses? You still plan on paying your mortgage during the apocalypse?
