I wasn't a are that there were different types of HSAs dependent upon a condition or disability
It's a savings account that gets preferential tax treatment if used on qualifying medical expenses.
You sure your talking HSA?

I believe you are looking for an FSA (Flexible Spending Account) and not an HSA (Health Savings Account).
The former is for dependent care, the latter is for medical expenses. Try googling FSA instead.

Can't have a FSA if one is on Medicare.
I could of saw something like a ABE HSA. Maybe some BS there. Hell, just trying to save a buck or two on taxes knowing I have a good bit of money going to health insurance, but not enough to get a write off on taxes.

You have to be enrolled in an HSA qualified high-deductible insurance plan. Unfortunately, you can't just open an HSA, just because.

How old is your kid? They are under medicaid and not under your own insurance? If they are a dependant you can still put them on your own insurance and pay for their costs with a FSA or HSA at that point, if you have multiple kids than often times family plans are the same cost with 1 kid or 3 or whatever.

Perhaps you are talking about the new 529-like account for disabilities.
It's called a 529 ABLE plan
