...on some commercial buildings I own. I've been to several agencies and they all tell me - after a few days -that I've got good coverage and they can't beat the price.... but none of them have ever actually quoted it. Recently, I found out that agents won't quote something already insured by another carrier unless the owner asks for some sort of special waiver or something to that effect. It really all sounds a bit collusional to me.....

Anyone know of which I speak?

Its not hard to look at the policy and tell if its decent. What is the carrier, TIV and premium?

Construction type and location

It's not so much the type or carrier, it's the fact that they won't even offer me a quote. I don't tell them what I'm paying yet they come back and say they can't do any better. Has happened on at least five occasions with different agencies and none of them have ever offered a quote.

There's just something ñot adding up on it. I'm told by a friend in the industry that there's some sort of edict in the insurance company, he becomes "hands off" to the others.

How did you bind the policy you currently have? Do you have an agent currently? If so who are their appointments?

If this friend is in the "industry" why can't he get a producer to market or go out himself? I'm guessing he is not commercial lines. So his advice is worthless.

Its like big lebowski... you want a quote? I can get you a quote dude

Can you post the location, construction type, premium and total insured value. You may actually have a good policy.

Soliciting will get you the ban hammer. Just FYI.

OP, if you went to multiple agents then im sure youre good.
It's very common for an agent to review your current pricing and know if they can truly compete or not.
Since you're in north LA youre probably with a competitively priced admitted carrier and are good to go.
Otherwise please post the information being requested so we can watch this guy get banned.

Hope that's aimed at rpg on the solicitation. And if the OP is this responsive to his agent I think we have our answer as to why he gets nowhere.

And don is right about there being numerous admitted carriers fighting for north louisiana business.

Do you currently have an independent agent representing you in the marketplace? If so keep in mind they may have approached all of their markets, which would "block" another agent in most cases. Ask your current agent to show you their marketing sheet.

And if this is a $500 policy covering an old shed or something you are wasting a lot of peoples time.

just in general.

actually know a guy who got himself and brother's screen name banned for soliciting. but i think they were actively soliciting constantly, not just trying to help.
