Getting A New Credit Card? No Clue Where To Start

So I was thinking about getting another credit card to help increase my number of accounts and on time payments to further help build my credit.
Which card should I go for? I currently have a small $1500 credit card through my credit union that i use occasionally, and then pay off the next month, but ive heard if you have accoutns with more than one company it looks better and helps your score.
I was thinking about getting an American Express card or something similar.
Thoughts? Recommendations?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I guess I should have included that I dont fly unless I absolutely have to. Hate flying. Haha.
More look for just the cash back options, any other non-flight reward perks.
Been looking at the American Express Blue, but wasnt sure.

Depending on your spending you may want to use places like nerdwallet.com
If you don't spend a lot, and are planning to keep this card open then look at non annual fee cards such as the citi double cash and chase freedom

Did some research and decided on the Amex blue preferred. 6% on groceries. I usually dont use credit cards much but trying to build up the credit score I have been forcing myself to. This seemed to fit as we can use this at the grocery store and the cash back is pretty nice.

Citi card 2% cash back on all purchases is a good one if you are just looking for cash back.

Be aware that the preferred has an annual fee.

First two cards I got were Chase Freedom and Discover It. 1% cash back on all transactions and 5% cash back on revolving categories for both the Freedom and It. Discover had a promotion going when I signed up and for my first year, it's 2% cash back on everything and 10% on revolving categories.

Amex blue cash preferred and citi double cash are the two best cash back cards going IMO
Chase freedom is good as well

I like the Citi double cash card if you don't want a bunch of cards. 2% cash back on everything and no fee.

Chase Freedom and Capital One QuickSilver are my go to cards for regular purchases.
Freedom for 5% quarterly cash back items and QuickSilver for 1.5% cash back for everything else.

The new Chase Freedom unlimited is the best 1.5x card on all purchases now since UR points can be worth a lot more.

What's the changes in point value?

What do you mean? I was referring to the fact that cb earned from CFU have the potential to be converted to UR if the OP decided to get a CSP/Ink down the line. That inherent possibility makes 1.5x cb from CFU worth more than Cap One 1.5x will always be worth 1 cent per "point" imo
What the OP should really get is probably the AmEx Blue Cash Preferred

Are there any cash back cards that give a bonus on spending thresholds?
