Financial Advising - managed account or fee based?

our FA is in a new firm which offers a managed account structure. we give her a sizeable lump of money and it gets inserted into a class of investments based on our risk tollerance.
We've always done a fee by transaction based account bc it was all that was offered, but now wondering what the pros and cons are of the managed account.
Can provide more details if needed.

2 sides to this. The more money she makes you, the more she makes. On the downside, if she loses you money, she still makes a %.
If I were you I would stick with transaction based.

maybe so, but I dont have the time nor intelligence to manage our mutual funds, stocks, etc on a daily basis. I'll take my lumps as long as I can get some sound opinions. We are meeting with them Friday to discuss further.

as an FA, you're doing the smart thing. Your time is more valuable to you if you focus on what made you that money in the first place.

At what point should someone look into a FA? 10K, 50K, 100K?
