update: selling my position at open, $4.29ish, and taking profit. But will look for another sub $3 entry point.

Im debating whether or not to dip buy EXXI this morning around 3.30. Let it run to 4 then sell off.

I would like to see it at $3.00 before I make a move. But from my amateurish view, the reason for the last run up was their positive guidance on the debt front (yeah right) and their hedged per barrel price on a large portion of their output. I don't see how any of this has changed.

Well, EXXI declared a $0.01 dividend this morning. Have earnings after close and call in the morning. I guess the dividend is a good sign for us bagholders that they will not sink... Yet, anyways.

Anyone still holding? Today has been absolutely brutal. I am rethinking everything at this point.
Holding 1,050 at 4.51 average.

EXXI: Energy XXI sells East Bay field for $21M to private buyer
I am not a pro. Does this sale have something to do with today's tank?

Seems all small oil stocks are down 5-10% with crude down big.

I still have a few shares but haven't really paid attention to it in months. At this point I"m still holding some for shits and giggles

I don't think so. This deal has been in the works for quite a while and wasn't much of a secret. Former EPL guys involved in the leadership of the company that purchased East Bay.

They did a sale/leaseback on their Grand Isle pipeline/terminal assets. They received $245 million on the sale, but will pay over $40 million in fixed lease payments over the next 11 years. I guess it helps improve liquidity in the near term and helps their balance sheet if the lease obligation stays off balance sheet. Desperate times...

Saw EXXI up 8% on the day, which is nice compared to most of the stocks Ive been watching. Anybody still riding that thing? This and PBMD are interesting at their current prices.

Sgy up around the same as well, I'm probably on the sideline until the Iran deal gets sorted out. Probably more blood in the sector before things get better.

I feel silly asking this, but what is the actual "long-term" risk here? The only way you lose here is if you sell below your buy-in price. The O&G dip doesn't appear to be over, so buying in today means you'll likely ride the wave down further, but it's not going to stay down? (right?)

that seems to be the universal hope of the MT board

I bought this stock about 9 months ago for the dividend and to hopefully ride the rebound up. The first day I bought it, it went down 2%. The next day when I checked it, the stock was up 22%. I sold it right away and never went back. Boy am I glad.

or the company goes under which some believe is possible
