I just priced MSY to DEN and it shows 20,000 points each way. Still a good deal but only 1 domestic round trip.
I'm ate up with the red arse now that I'm stuck with this shitty Frontier card.

FYI Cardcash is back to coding as utilities for 5x with Ink.
Thanks, haven't used this before is this legit? I liked to buy gas cards at office supply but they don't do them anymore. I see a $200 gas card on Cardcash so that seems like an easy way to rack up points for what I'm gonna do a lot anyway.
ETA: BTW, how do you know when they are coding as a utility or not?

How does the CashForward MC from Barclay rank in the cc world?
I got a invite from them the other day, they will be bonus me 200 bucks if I take their card and purchase a thousand dollars on it in the first 90 days.

Does anyone have an opinion on the Chase Sapphire Reserve card? It offers 3x rewards on travel and dining. Those are two of our primary spending categories. The annual fee is substantial $450, but you get $300/yr annual travel credit. We travel several times a year, so we should always take advantage of this credit. Making the difference $150/yr.
Curious if anyone has experience with this one. Positive or negative.
TIA.

If you search the board for That card, you will see many discussions about it. Almost all of them are positive. However, I don't think the 100k sign up bonus is still available. I think they extended it to in branch only recently, but that might have expired.
I have the card and it's great for the mainly reasons you listed above.

It is probably the best card that has ever come out. With that said, if you can't get the 100k signup bonus you may want to reconsider getting it.

I'm still I was at 5/24 and couldn't get the bonus. I'll be free of that in late May but I don't know if I can let myself sign up for that card with a 50k bonus. I can get that or more with Ink Preferred or CSP.

I applied in a branch the last weekend it was available. I got a rejection letter in the mail on friday. I called and it was because i already had the max credit chase would give out to me between my united card and marriot card. Just shifted 1/3 from each and they approved me.

If you can still get 100k in branch then go for it. If not, I'd go with the CSP, which has a second year fee of just $95.

It's excellent - the $300 even counts towards Uber.
Additionally I used the global entry reimbursement already too. I got it in December and got the $300 for last year and this, plus the 100k points plus the global entry-- was like $2200 in rewards in 3 months

Any thoughts on the AMEX Hilton 100k point bonus?
Doesn't seem worth it given their redemption value

Sadly Hilton points don't go as far as they used to.

I've mentioned repeatedly on this thread that I'm an airline miles neophyte, so:
The lady and I are starting to plan a trip to Japan in early November. Trying to decide whether to use our copious UR points on airfare or lodging, whichever offers the better value. Ideally we would be flying out of BTR, but could be persuaded to fly out of another airport, within reason. Any particularly good transfer partners for travel to Asia? Preferably, if I'm using points for the flight, it would be in Business, but that's not necessarily a deal breaker.

Apparently there is a good Hyatt in Tokyo that bloggers like.
However, I cannot emphasize enough how awesome flying biz class to Asia is, and how much better you're going to feel throughout your vacation by having those comforts. That includes all the business class lounge access and general doting you receive all flight.
My experience is on Asiana to Seoul from LAX but ANA can be booked via United and should be good as well.

Just a heads up it's good practice to proactively lower your limits in advance a few weeks after getting approved so you don't have to worry about this sort of thing.
Any time I get approved by a bank I almost immediately lower it to 10k.

A few solid Hyatts, actually, which is why I'm probably disinclined to use points for the flight unless I can get a sexy business class fare.

How do I go about searching award availability on ANA/United? The few times I've looked, I've found United's website to be unwieldy as hell
Posted on 4/2/17 at 5:48 pm to Joshjrn
Really? I feel like United, even with the changes is my go to. Funny enough ANA is a great search site as well. There's a work around to make that site work well but you can Google "using ANA to search awards" or something like that to explain the steps.
When I was booking Thailand I found ANA flights using United's site rather easily.
And by easily I mean I put hours and hours into but that's because I'm autistic or something and get some sick enjoyment out of searching this stuff.
