I dont know where you live but in the 2 airports I use most, Bush Intercontinental and Miami International, the priority pass membership does nothing for me as its in neither the United or American terminals. I dont know the other airports all that well but for me its pretty much meh. I have my united card for houston and I had an amex for miami but I recently cancelled it. I wish someone offered a damn universal lounge card its just annoying.

For the priority pass access, are we supposed to get a card in the mail or what? I've had my CSR for about a month now... Not that it matters since I'm going anywhere relevant for a while. Just inquiring.

I found out recently that you have to activate it in the UR portal. Go to your CSR portal and click the "Learn More" button on that splash screen. Then click the activate button for Priority Pass.

With that said, it's been about a week or so since I've done that and still haven't received a card in the mail, so we'll see.

Agree about priority pass. I use Admirals Club and Centurion Lounge.

So, how do you handle a situation like this with Chase. I got my wife's CSR and used it to book a cabin in Gatlinburg. They didn't code it as travel, should a rental cabin be considered travel for the 3X points?

Is there a list of items in the rewards category that you can reference to know what is considered a points item and what is not?

Call the CSR number and complain. Probably just wrongly categorized or they went through some 3rd party processing vendor

Not by specific vendor. Some just aren't categorized right. Chase considers nearly everything close to travel as travel

How long do sign up bonuses for these new cards last?

I'm hoping to apply for this card in January if they still have the same offer out.

Amex is gonna have to rethink their entire points program from the platinum and black card perspective. Chase is shiteing on the with the sapphire reserve and JP Morgan reserve. What's more prestigious? That you have a black Amex and spend $250k annually or that you have a JP Morgan reserve card and have $10m+ bc you're a JP Morgan private bank client? The JP Morgan card is $500/year and the black Amex is $7500 in year one. Amex has quite the battle ahead of them to compete across the board but for starters the platinum Amex will need better rewards and sign up bonus. Access to a handful of Amex lounges is not worth it right now

I know if you have the same address on file and have for at least the last 30 (60?) days then you can transfer points for free. I don't think the biz vs personal matters as once the points are in your SPG account they are SPG points.

BTW, got an email from MMS that I'm sure some of you saw but the Marriott/SPG merge did help in the transfer of SPG points to United. Shitty UA is 2:1 with SPG which is a joke. But if you transfer SPG to Marriott and then to UA you actually get better than 1:1. Example: 8,000 SPG = 24,000 Marriott which = 10,000 UA.

Called. It was coded to them as "software", but the guy couldn't fix it. He did give me the 3x points, and now I have to do something else to get the $300 annual travel credit. Not a big deal, but I did plan to use this as the travel credit for this year, but will just book a hotel for 2-3 days somewhere I guess.

The $300 travel credit is cool but I wish you could pick what its used on. Its used up alot on my parking when I charge it on my card in and out of garages.

What do you care?

Your issue is entirely mental. The punchline is that you now have $300 you didn't previously have to use on whatever you want. If you'd like to go spend that $300 on travel, go for it. If not, enjoy your $300

PIMP! How'd you get so fast? I read somewhere that it did no good to ask for expedited. I applied today and was approved, hoping to get before my $3300 car insurance is due Sept. 4th.

I wasn't expecting it. I was actually denied initially. Called in on sunday after returning from vacay and gave some additional info for the instant approval. Come home from work today and a UPS envelope was sitting on the porch.

Just got my CSR. No fancy packaging but metal card (heard some people got a plastic card...not that it matters).

Not sure why you care which one you get refunded on. You get $300 either way

Looking into the Priority Pass lounges, seems like a lot of lounges give you reduced service for being a PP entrant. If so, that value just went to
