You have to purchase two or more tickets on the itinerary to qualify. You also have to purchase the tickets through a portal.
It does not appear that Southwest is participating in the program. They don't show up in the portal on a flight search.

Oh well. Got a tingle for a lil while
What's the story with the CSR travel credit? Can credit be used for hotel purchases?

Southwest doesn't allow 3rd party booking I don't think. You can't find them on Kayak/Priceline/Expedia etc either

Correct. Along with a couple of others.

Anyone get Chase SW visa to waive AF?
I have had this card for about 5 years. Im under the 5 card rule and am looking into hitting some other ones. might as well dump that one since I have Ink and can transfer UR points to SW.

For everyone who is wondering if they should get the CSR:
1) Are you under 5 new accounts in last 24 months?
2) Have you had other Chase Cards?
3) Have you applied for under 2 Chase cards in the last 30 days?
If you answered Yes to all of those the answer is: ABSOLUTELY GET THE CSR!
You talked me into it with this questionnaire...
Got it with way more credit limit than I need and I'll be downgrading my sapphire preferred soon to the FU once i get all of my auto pay switched over.

So far I've seen DL, AS, AA, UA, B6 and VX. Basically no LCC (including SW).
I still am not sure how I can use $300 credit for something that I would actually use so I've still not gotten the Ritz card even though it's not under 5/24. I got a churner friend to add me as AU on how to use the $100 flight discount. Will be taking a lot of overnight trips now Even considered requalifying for AA EXP through segment runs (only for a moment).

Rejected the 100k match for INK+. Should I just secure message again?
Also, having separate UR portals for each card is annoying. If you have a UR eligible card, just combine them all

You can manufacture the $300 easily Kop. Well not as easily as Amex, but pretty easily.

I'll make it every year just on Uber rides from the bar

Have you tried it? I've read that you could buy low denom GCs online and then call in saying it was excess baggage fee, but sometimes people get denied for that IIRC.

I'm not sure Uber qualifies. Are you talking about the Ritz $300 credit?

Will Hyatt automatically upgrade our room, for being platinum, if available at check-in or should we ask for it?
We are staying at Hyatt French Quarter in October. Should we ask if they have a balcony room available or would they do it anyway if available? Not sure of the etiquette

General way for any upgrade:
Find the GMs email online and email in advance. I've had a 100% success rate with upgrades with this technique. At check-in, just ask if there's any chance of a platinum upgrade if there is any balcony rooms free in conversation.
It helps if you are specific as to exactly what you want. If an upgrade is important to me, I research the room #s that I would like. I've always been given one of the rooms I've requested (I usually request a range of rooms).

I stumbled upon the method by mistake. Basically, buy a refundable ticket for a flight a few months out. Then upgrade it to first class (make sure the ticket and upgrade fee remain refundable). Then SM chase with a copy of the upgrade fee receipt and they'll credit it. Once the credit posts, refund the ticket. I have only done it with United, but you MUST do the upgrade from the "Manage my reservations" screen on United.com - not from the upgrade offer box that pops up right after you buy the coach ticket. Basically, United calls the "manage my reservations" upgrade an upgrade, but it is really just you purchasing the fare difference between your refundable coach ticket and the cheapest refundable first ticket. Receipt says it's a cash upgrade though. Sometimes the "fee" is $300+ on its own so you kill the credit in one transaction. If you need to do more than one of these to use the credit, space them out so the CSR's don't see the aftermath of your previous transaction in the recent history.

So the CSR is the card to grab right now? Me and the wife were discussing getting a credit card for travel, the perks on the CSR look like the best so far. Should we bth apply and get double the points?

Called the pending app line yesterday and viola, I am approved.

Yes, absolutely. Cancel one after year 1 and making use of $300x2 credit.

I would definitely get the csr for the initial bonus and airline credits, but if you actually want to keep a card for a long time for travel purposes I would take a look Amex plat or citi prestige as well. There isn't a one size fits all because everyone's travel habits are different, but I actually think the Amex plat and citi prestige are more useful than the csr once you get past the bonus and the reimbursement. Amex gives you status with a ton of hotels, and if you frequent an airport with a centurion lounge than its a no brainer. Fine hotels and resorts is also a better program than the chase counterpart. Citi prestige gives you the 3x points on travel just like csr, but the prestige 4th night free benefit may just be the single best credit card perk on the market. If you travel and pay for hotel stays a lot the citi prestige is a must.
The new csr is probably the best card if you are looking to use a card for all your spending. I wouldn't put a dollar on the Amex plat unless it's going to get reimbursed. Amex plat is mostly something you carry for all the fringe benefits.
