W/O the CP, UR to SW transfer is not the best redemption. In terms of value per point, you can do much better than 1.4c-1.7c with Chase points. This is the max you can get at SW.
As far as Hyatt value goes, sure, you can transfer 30K points to a $1200 Park Hyatt and say that you got 4c per point value out of each point, but that is not the case when:
1) You wouldn't have paid $1200 a night otherwise and
2) There was a $120 hotel right down the road
Same thing with J and F redemptions for airlines.
I will add though, this is my way of valuing my points. I tend to choose the most conservative method possible. This does make it a bit hard to redeem points but it makes sure I consistently get good to great value out of them.
Another example: My next points flight is "valued" at $12,500 by United. Basically I can get the same exact itinerary (same airlines etc) for $12,500 instead of 120K points. This does not mean that I got almost 10.4c per point for this redemption. Because I would have booked the cheapest available flights if I was using cash. Cheapest available itinerary, net of taxes is around $3,900. Meaning I got 3.25c per point. Not bad but definitely not as good as 10.4c.

I'll be getting the 50k bonus on CSP soon and I'm weighing our options.
Just booked rountrip for myself and the wife: MSY-OGG (Maui) for total of 50K UR. Regular price for dates selected was $2200.

Damn that is amazing. Did you also use UR for hotel?
Posted on 7/21/16 at 11:22 pm to Odinson
Nice! Did you use Avios or Korean?

I love chase UR for Hyatt. Hyatt for Gump game this yearis 300$ per night... Got 2 nights for 10k. That's what I'm talking about. About same exact price last year for Hyatt in Birmingham that I booked for gumps

I have a relative in the Marriott system. Through family discounts, I often can find some awesome deals, so I save my UR for flights.
Korean through Delta.

That is actually a really good redemption. I'd do it too. But that is an exception. Like Odinson mentioned, I can relatively "slum" it in a cheap hotel, so I save my UR (and other transferable points) to get me there.

NICE! Was the booking process a PITA?

Rather simple actually after you do it once. Yes, seams little overwhelming at first but well worth the small effort. I just make sure to speak to the Koreanair booking agents directly.

I'm sure everyone who has the Citi Prestige or was planning on getting it has heard about the terrible terrible news about the Citi TYP devaluation. The 1.6c on AA and 1.3c on all other airline redemption was so valuable. And the Admirals Club. I'll even venture out to say I enjoyed admirals club more than the crowded and loud centurion lounges

That's awesome. I have about 115K UR points just sitting there and I haven't figured out a good use for them yet.

What? Plenty of good uses for UR. Shouldn't be hard.

Not familiar with this as I'm new to points collecting. I do have 110K citi AA pts. Does that get effected somehow?
-- I see now this is the citi prestige (which I don't have)

Just read about the Prestige deval, not looking good. I'll probably just go to a lower card or see what they offer, but it isn't looking good.

Although this is a pretty big blow, here are my reasons for keeping the card:
1) Citi still has pretty good transfer partners. Although the 1.6c on AA when awards weren't available was cool, the max cpp still would be by transferring points to SQ or FB.
2) Most people didn't use the golf benefit, including me. I wanted to use it in the future but hadn't so far. Most people will not be affected by this benefit going away.
3) The 4th night free change to average rate can work both, in your favor and otherwise. As far as I am concerned, having used this benefit plenty of times, I am still to come across a time when the 4th night was much more expensive than all others. The no refunds on taxes bit hurts, though.
4) Losing Admirals club sucks. But this card offers much better priority pass access than any other card. Overseas, priority pass lounges are usually much better than those found in the states. This mainly affects people who use domestic lounges a lot.
5) Citi has done the right thing and given a full year's notice before implementing these changes. You have more than enough time to make use of your TYPs before the changes come into effect.
That said - for people who travel for work, this card is still a money maker. Especially if you can get it at a $350 AF. With the $250 no hassle, airline fee credit, you only have to make use of the 4th night free benefit once to make this a no AF card. Keep in mind however, at the current rate, the 4th night free benefit equates to a ~15% discount on your stay. You can find 10-15% off coupons for orbitz/travelocity/hotels.com + cashback through portal to do better. I will only use 4th night free when I am traveling from work starting next year.

It still holds value, just not the barn burner I was getting.
My gf is looking to build her credit up. I told her Chase, my only hold up was Freedom or the Unlimited?

If you can max out bonus cats, from is a no brainer. If not then either. Maybe FU
Posted on 7/25/16 at 8:41 am to AmeriKop45
Yeah, as I was thinking in my head - the rolling 5% categories may be a bit much for her to keep up with. It is just a card to get her started. I was leaning FU anyway. Already gave her the heads up on the UR points it can transfer to with adding on the CSP.

I actually used the golf benefit so that sucks.

I have no idea how to use these Delta points. No good direct flights and outrageous point total for round trips. Can I transfer these for a better value?
