Nice - I need to do that. I'll likely do the platinum for the MQM bonus though. I'd rather 15k less RDM bonus to get the MQM bonus.

I've spent almost enough money to hit platinum this year on delta but still not halfway on my segments. Thats bullshite. It should just be how much money you spend with a company for the rewards.

That's silly. That means you could buy one biz class ticket to China and hit platinum for the one flight.
ETA: Just spend a ton with them and get invited to Delta 360. Better than Diamond.

Just tried and the trick works. We want to go in May or June of next year so I'll have to wait about a month to book. Yall keep this quiet so they don't shut down the loop hole in the next month
