I made two purchases this month with a credit card I very rarely use. I paid the first charge online the day after the purchase. I tried to pay the second charge today, but it said I am only allowed to make one payment per billing period (the billing period hasn't even started since both charges were made this month). It also won't let me schedule a payment for next month.

I want to pay both charges off now because I rarely use this card and don't want to forget to pay it. Is there any way I can make the credit card company take my money?

That is unusual. My card allows a max of 3 payments per month but only allowing 1 payment per month seems really strange to me.

If it means that much to you I'd call up and complain. They'd probably rather take your money than deal with you.

Try calling them and doing it over the phone?

Maybe they are trying to keep you to just doing one electronic payment. Send in a check and I bet they take it.

So how would they do this if you do online banking? Would they refuse the transfer that your bank is trying to do? Never heard of only allowing one payment... Generally you will see a cap of 3 payments or no cap at all.

Tried to pay through the card's site, but if they don't take the payment by phone I will take this route (or dust off my checkbook).

My credit cards allow me to pay online and put in a future "effective date" for the payment. Will your card allow you to do that and then you could put in the payment due date rather than making the payment effective today? Might be worth a try....
