What would you say the hardest part of the curriculum is for Level 1? Just looking at it, taking into account how much material there is for each subject, financial reporting and analysis because of the amount of info.? More of the accounting stuff I assume

I absolutely +1 that comment and I would say it definitely depends on your background.

When I took it (7 years ago), the ethics portion was very tough. I definitely felt they were out to trick you.

They definitely clown you on Ethics on both L1 and L2. Such a pain.

As KFizz said, it depends on your background, but most likely it will be FSA. The others are tough, but FSA is such a large portion of hard and arcane crap (unless you are an accountant. Quant and derivatives are two of the harder ones. Ethics (if you just read it a few days before the test) and Econ are easy. Even when I failed, I got the highest mark in ethics.

ETA: change your thread title to something more descriptive. It got the anchor.

You can call any of it arcane IMO, its not like making someone work out the fair value of a currency swap by hand to the 5th significant digit is any less arcane than memorizing what the formula for COGS is.
