Car accident claims

I was involved in a car accident today. Was rear ended by a 20 year old not paying attention. My vehicle is a 2014 Infiniti qx60. Mild-Moderate damage and still drivable. No severe injuries but do Feel some tension and strain of cervical region. Police arrived and report pending.
What do I need to know about making a claim, vehicle repair costs, deminished value etc.
First accident so I'm new to the process but I always hear about people getting into accidents and wished they would have did somethings differently. Do I take quick claim check or do I have something to negotiate about? Hopefully I do not need to get my attorneys involved. TIA

Have you had an incredible run of good luck avoiding accidents in your life, or are you a trust fund baby? =)
I'm assuming you got the other driver's insurance info. Call them now and get the ball rolling.
If you have any pain at all, go see a doctor today. Usually with trama injuries, the pain is worse after a night or two sleep, so if it hurts now, it might really hurt in the morning.
You said "your attorneys" so I assume you have a relationship with an attorney. He's probably currently on the 14th fairway on a day like today, so I might call him or her on Monday and ask for any advice.

Contact your insurance carrier. Who do you have insurance with?
See if you can get a rental car ASAP and be patient w/the claim because the other company has to prove that their insured was liable . They have to do that before they start paying your claim. Who did the other person have insurance with?
For the most part it will play out fine, but if things drag out and you are getting the run around feel free to get your attorney involved. Best of luck

If you have any pain DO NOT sign any thing from the insurance company- talk with an attorney
I made this mistake decades ago and still have residual pain.
