I like to follow this Barclays ETN called JO, which tracks the commodity futures.
For the past year some long swing trades could have been made on this one. From $18 to 23, from $20 to $25, then back down to $18 and up to $22 again.
So we're looking at a range of about 20% in just a few months. Well, after peaking at $22.23 in January it sits below $18 now...but I'm just wondering why the sudden decrease?? I'ts dropped 10% in two days! ...and I've read that coffee is scarce this year
I love to drink the stuff, but the global market isn't my forte. Help anyone?

Low supply shouldn't be fueling the downward slide ? Looks like an opportunity to me.

This probably wont help answer your questions, but it's an interesting article to me.
Coffee
And I agree that this looks like a great buying opportunity.

I'm not experienced buying ETN's. Is there a maturation date or a hold period before you sell?

When does it roll the single front month futre's contract it owns?
That's one possible explanation. Also, wouldn't the cruve have steepened and wouldn't there be contango?
It's a note, I'd trade its options around its underlying trading months - HKNUZ

Thanks for the options suggestion, but the only thing I know about contango and backwardation is that they are BAD!
This one isn't 3x leveraged so I was thinking there wouldn't be a huge contango impact.
