Alright money board, I am trying to get some opinion on what a breakdown would be. 2017, I expect my wife to be finished with graduate school and working. Conservatively, I expect our combined salary to be $100k.
No student loans
Currently no car notes
Child care is $400/month
Categories:
House Payment(+p&i)
Utilities(electric, gas, cable)
Food
Car payment?
Looking for some round numbers. We have a house now, but of course we are looking for something else soon. It is a little small <2k sf and hoping for a 2nd child soon. Probably buying a new car soon, used tahoe or something similar. I have an MSFinance degree and feel comfortable with it all, but am just curious what other would shoot for in a similar scenario.

Gross Pay = $100K
-35% for taxes
-10% for 401(k) & savings
Net Pay = $55,000 / 12 months = $4583 /mo
Food (Groceries and Dining out) - $600
Car note - $350
Car insurance - $200
Utilities - $300
Gas - $250
Gym? - $100
Child care - $400
Healthcare? - $500
Miscellaneous - $500
Total Expenses = $3200
Net Pay - Total Expenses = House Payment you can afford
*Note that all of these numbers are just estimates; you should adjust accordingly to you situation.

That's cool if he doesn't plan on eating food and/or maintaining a house.
Eta: sorry, missed the first line! I'm an idoit.

How much do you think you will make on the house?
