So I moved out to Texas, living in Frisco, working in Plano.

I only know one person here, and he had a bad experience with his realtor when he bought his house, so he couldn't recommend me his guy.

My previous 2 houses were in the area I lived for a while so it was easy to find one based on recos from friends, so I didn't do any real research, to be honest. So I'm not sure where to even start.

I'll be looking to buy in the Plano/Frisco/McKinney area.

I have used Jim Ellis with Keller Williams and highly recommend him. His phone # is 469-222-3456. He has helped my wife and I and two of my children with purchases and sales. We still use him from time to time to help us arrange contractors for repairs or remodeling. He has a lot of very good contacts.

Dang, I was hoping for general ideas on the best way to find a realtor, but this is even better lol.

Thanks man. Given I don't know much about realtors in the area, it certainly can't hurt to give it a whirl.

I used a Virginia Cook realtor. She was helpful when buying and selling. I'd give you her info but I think she's more focused on the Dallas area. Good luck.

Put a For Sale by Owner sign in your yard. Realtors will bombard your phone.
