I do a lot of traveling due to fishing tournaments, easily spend $1000 a month on gas for truck and boat. Looking for the best card to save money purchasing gas. TIA

Wal Mart gas credit card gives you 5 cents off per gallon @ Murphy Oil.

This.
Anyone know when I get a real job I'll be able to get this?
I know Will Cover said you have to send in 2 years of tax returns.

I got the card without sending in a year of tax returns. I did have to post my salary (obviously) but there was no other verification past that.
Credit Score around 730 or so (I've only seen Credit Karma)
Also, I know they will try their best to get you to do the "Platinum Rewards" as opposed to the "Cash Rewards." It's not that bad though because they still offer 100 points as $1.00 as a gift card. They just started switching people over so who knows if it will stay at that rate, but so far so good.

PenFed Platinum Cashback Rewards Visa Card: The best gas rewards card is actually issued by a credit union, not an oil company.
The PenFed Platinum Cashback Rewards Visa pays 5% back on gasoline purchases at the pump no matter which station you use. You also earn 2% at supermarkets and one percent everywhere else. In addition, its low APRs make this card one of the best balance-transfer cards, too.
In order to be eligible for this card, you must be a member of the Pentagon Federal Credit Union. If you're in the military or related to someone who is, you're eligible to join. PenFed has lots of other good credit cards.

May not be the best but I use my Amex blue preferred
3% back on gas but I also get 6% on groceries and 1% everywhere else
There's an annual fee but it's easy to justify seeing how much I get back each year
Eta: racetrack usually has the cheapest gas but doesn't accept Amex so I have to factor that in. I live in denham so I usually go to the pilot which is also cheap

Chase's Freedom has 5% cash back on gas every other quarter (historically).
I dont know anything about the penfeld card, but the freedom has zero annual fees and year end bonus points. also comes with track spending and budget software online as well. i love it.

Discover has a 5% gas card

I use delta sky miles card. The vacations seem more of a reward to me than a few pennies here and there.

On the discover you only get the 5% after a certain point I think. I think it doesn't kick in until you spend x amount of money at the pump.
Anyone confirm this?

Penfed. I've had mine for about a year and have saved hundreds. I switched it from cash to points though to get the grocery bonus.
