I know there is a thread discussing different cards and the points but this question is geared more towards this card. I've had the Southwest Premier and Plus and I'm not sure how often you can re-apply and I still have the Chase Sapphire Preferred card. I'm looking for the next best option for points, and wonder if the Barclay card would be my next best option?

Had it for several years now. You're better off with a no annual fee 2% cashback card.

I believe the threshold limit is $44,000 annually for the card to be worth the annual fee compared to a 2%.

it's not a bad card to get once for the bonus. It was severely crippled last year so I wouldn't recommend keeping it beyond the year. I haven't been keeping up with the CC thread of late so not sure what the best bang for your buck is at the moment.

I believe there is no fee for the first year, so I would get the points then cancel it.

I just recently got this card. Main reason was to pay for the honeymoon, wedding, etc, and use the bonus plus points to get free plane tickets. It worked great! Flying to Turks and caicos for free, plus some off the Honeymoon.
However, I did not read the fine print. There is no intro 0% APR. So when my first bill came I was depleted!

Like some said above, the annual fee is not worth the card, so I'll cancel after the year. Look into Capital One Venture. The same card with just half the annual fee.

Do it. In fact, get one every 6 months.

We switched from the Arrival card to a Chase Sapphire recently. Barclay's fraud system sucks balls. We were constantly being denied for suspicious transactions...at our grocery store..that we go to multiple times every week...that's a mile down the road from our house. So far the Sapphire has been perfect.

Sorry, just so we're clear, what exactly happened? You didn't pay your bill in time and incurred interest and that depleted your points to cover it?

Reason I ask is I just got tha card and want to make sure I'm not missing anything. I pay my card off completely every couple of weeks.

It has a nice bonus, and the 2.1 valuation per dollar you spend is better than practically any cashback card. Just downgrade it to the no fee version after the first year.

If you do this, do you get to keep the points you earned?

Feel free to ask them before you do it, but I've been told yes.

I have the card and I'm assuming he means that he was just depleted of maybe some extra spending money. Regardless of if there's 0 percent APR on new charges on a card you still have to make minimum payments per billing cycle.

The Arrival + comes with 12 months 0% APR on balance transfers only.

As long as you pay your minimum payment/balance before the due date you're good.

No I assumed I had an intro promotional 0% Apr. It just hit me at the first bill bc I had to pay the entire total of a wedding, honeymoon, and other expenses all at once to avoid the interest charges.

Current Arrival+ Card holder, it was great while it lasted but they effectively made it a 2.1% card a few months ago.

Get the sign up bonus and bail, I am looking at other options as well now.

I'm in the same boat. Trying to decide where to go.
