Same thing for me. Right now I'm at 13.5% pre tax, based on built in performance raises I could get to 10-11% in about 1-2 years

For the next 1-2 months before you move in, just throw that extra $500/mo into an account. You'll adjust to the lower take home + have some money to spend on new home related expenses

I'm at about 18% pre-tax for everything. I definitely can sympathize with your situation as I made a similar move from a much lower amount.

It's less if you include my wife's salary but I don't like to figure hers into paying bills

What would y'all consider the "number" you want to stay below. I have read a few sites that say you want to stay under 25%. Is that accurate? My thing is we are both young and moving up in our careers. We really can only go up from here.
