Does anyone use one? If so, what has been your experience?

Examples include Personal Capital, Betterment, Future Advisor, Sig Fig Wealth Management, Mortif Investing, Wealthfront, etc.

I have used Betterment since March 2014. It is not an advisor in the traditional sense but more of a robo investor. Betterment offers a set universe of various stock and bond ETFs. You (the investor) choose your allocation between stocks and bonds and Betterment does the rest. It's for the individual that wants to automate their investing and forget it. I have no complaints thus far and it fits my needs. Hope that helps.

I read about these yesterday. They charge a fee between average index and ETF fees(they charge around .25%). You set your risk tolerance and they adjust your portfolio balance between a limited set of funds. Mostly very broadly diversified indexes and bonds. They handle rebalancing and tax harvesting.

They seem to be trying to strike a middle ground between an individual buying broad index and etfs with super low fees, but still requiring work on the part of the individual and buying a fully human managed fund charging much higher fees.

That helped.
Has your rate of return surpassed the dow?

I just checked and I'm at 4.4% ytd. Looks like the dow is up 6.38% ytd.

I'm a young guy only a couple years into my career. For me, I'm more focused on saving and investing as much as possible and not getting hung up on returns.
