Not sure if correct board, but does anyone have experience buying diamonds online?

Looking to buy a pair of diamond earrings. Some of the online options like blue Nile have amazing prices compared to local jewelry stores, but buying diamonds online kinda makes me nervous.
Anyone have experience with this? If so who did you buy from?

Blue Nile is legit. Saved about 2 grand on an engagement ring and they offered zero percent financing.

Buy a cz, you wont have to worry if it is fake or not, will get a better stone, and will save alot of money.

Bought from Blue Nile. Great experience. Just do a lot of research on the dimensions you want and then hunt one down. Pour over the GIA reports. You can save a good bit of money.

Bought mine from Adamior (sp?) and it was legit. The online stores have so much more selection that it was a no brainer for me.

Probably the most beautiful & functional website I've ever seen.

Also bought an engagement ring and matching wedding band from James Allen. Very happy.

Found the exact same diamond (same GIA certification number) on Kay and Zales websites. But I paid about $4k to $5k less on James Allen.

Another Blue Nile user here. Flawless experience and NO SALESMEN which was my main attraction.

Bluenile happy customer here as well.

Also, if you have a Chase card (CSP or Freedom), try to buy it through the Ultimate Rewards website so you can get extra points. I wasn't aware of this and missed out on quite a few extra points

I was happy with Bluenile. If you time it right, you can get great deals.

Hi Cow Drogo,

My name is Shelly and I work at James Allen, an online jeweler specializing in diamonds, engagement rings, earrings and wedding rings.

Thanks to Jon Ham and That's BS for the shout outs – the best part of all is hearing from happy customers.

Totally understand your hesitancy to buy online, especially when it comes to diamonds. Just wanted to assure you that buying online is a great option, and here are some things to keep in mind:

- It’s 100% secure
- Your dollar stretches further than it would at a brick and mortar store
- Reputable online jewelers will offer money-back guarantees with no restocking fee and no questions asked
- Reputable online jewelers will also offer free shipping and free returns, in addition to other perks
- 24/7 customer service
- Freedom to browse and purchase at your own pace
I would also recommend that you look at online jewelers who do not drop ship, as this can compromise the quality of the jewelers.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out 24/7 via phone or live chat on our site.

Hope that helps and happy hunting!

Shelly,

You should go introduce yourself on the OT Lounge (off-topic lounge). There is a bigger audience there and they often have similar questions about jewelry.
