The last time I moved everything myself I swore it'd the last

Has anyone used a moving company in BR for a local move? If so please recommend a company. How much can I expect to pay to move from one house to another 3BR house approximately 10 miles apart?

Any advice, tips or suggestions?

thank you

Over in Mandeville I used Atmosphere Movers to move about 10 miles. It was $900 total to move all furniture, tables, chairs, and appliances. I packed and moved all the boxable items myself.

I used Abba Movers one year ago. Nick was great to work with and his estimate was spot on. We moved from Baton Rouge to Pass Christian, so my price won't work for comparing an in town move.

I had originally planned for them to only move furniture and appliances. When they had that loaded in no time, I had them load the boxes also. Well worth the money, especially in this heat!

Usually the local firemen offer moving services. I used them in Mandeville and they were awesome. I believe their rate was $100 hr for 3 guys.

That sounds crazy to me. Have had a couple friends do a move in Houston for safely under $500. They are single guys that aren't moving a fridge like it sounds like you did, but still a good bit bit of furniture. Hard to believe you need to drop almost a grand for that stuff.

They get paid by the hour. How much stuff you have? It's about 100 per hour plus mileage.

I'm moving this week and priced a few places

Ended up using 2 men and a truck

They are sending a truck and 3 guys actually, and estimate it to take 5 hours to move me about 15 miles. I'll handle boxes myself.

For 3 movers and the truck, it's 150 per hour and 150 for the travel fee
