You missed the point. Big time.

What is the point? You think something is ridiculous yet you follow it.

I'm not being critical, but isn't it pretty much the opposite of gold? It has no physical properties, you can't see it or touch it and it has no numismatic or collector value.

Maybe instead of "gold online", I should've used "digital gold". It has fixed amount. Can't create more. I was referring to gold as money not collectible.

It's widely tracked in the FOREX world, so when I look at those, it's there. Like I said, I watch it more as a spectator - I am not researching it, etc. I did notice it lost nearly 10% of it's value today.

Which is why it is absolutely ridiculous. To even think of using this as a currency with the volatility it experiences is flat out dumb. It's been a ponzi scheme from the beginning and now just another thing to gamble on.

I think wiki retired off of Bitcoin and became a hermit.

I used to be a regular on here a few years back and it was hilarious watching LSURussian and his minions going full retard with their hate against bitcoin.

hah from what I remember, yes.

He (josh maybe?) was a total quack, truther type.. which made him easy to gang up on.

But I will admit he got unjustly crucified over bitcoin.

He always maintained that the value in bitcoin was transactional, he wasn't a speculator. For better or for worse, he truly believed in it...

bitcoin/distributed ledger is pretty cool stuff and will be around for a long time.

and FWIW, I work in tech for a very very big bank.
