I've had my 401k for 11 years now and I'm a little concerned with the election. Should I leave my money in a higher risk category or move it to a low risk until after the election and see how the market is responding to the new POTUS?

I'm still 20+ years away but just in case I've put a portion of our retirement accounts into money market funds just until after the initial shock , if there is one.

I don't plan on having it there long and it's not like the market has been on fire these last couple months anyway.

Whatever you're thinking of doing, don't.

Time in the market, not timing the market.

I moved out of stock today just until after election. Hopefully there is a big drop and I will get back in at a lower rate.

why not just short the market if you're sure enough there is going to be a big drop.

You have time....don't try to time the market, just keep plugging away. It's like trying to catch a falling knife, you may get lucky but more than likely you'll lose and it's gonna hurt.
